To achieve the project’s objectives, the RAPID DRY team will develop, test and bring to the market a prototype chamber dryer.
The project will start with two parallel actions:
• SELECTION OF MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS for the prototype dryer (4 months);
• development of new slips in SETEC laboratory.
After the DRYER WILL BE DESIGNED
(simulation of control software, mechanical, electrical and thermal design)
The PROTOTYPE WILL BE BUILT: the software will be installed and tuned, and functional tests will be performed on each individual component. The analysis of outcomes will converge into a business plan for future exploitation.
Alongside, two actions will be carried out:
• MONITORING OF IMPACT: predefined impact parameters will be measured, analysed and compared to expected results;
• SUSTAINABILITY ASSESSMENT: to assess the environmental, social and economic impacts of the proposed technologies.
Throughout the project, communication, dissemination and networking activities will be performed TO INFORM AND ENGAGE industrial stakeholders, end-users, policy makers and the general public ON CLIMATE PROBLEMS targeted by the RAPID DRY project and results achieved. A wide range of tools will be used for this purpose.
